development of technological capability is one of the effective methods for promoting the firm competitive performance. transfer of suitable technology help the firm to make a strong position in its industry faster than using in-house r&d.; successfulness of a firm based on technology transfer process can be measured with different scales such as measurement of firm competitive performance through technology transfer. this research has been accomplished with the aim of evaluation of technology transfer effect on competitive performance of iranian auto part makers with the structural equation model. based on research findings, the technology transferred to the auto part makers involved in the project of producing tondar 90 (l90) has had directive effective on the filed of quality improvement and cost reduction of final product. in the other hand, in the process of technology transfer managers have concentrate on transfer of hardware and software of technology.
